Acerca de El Tintero de Caballero
El Tintero de Caballero es el sitio oficial del autor Z.D. Caballero: un espacio dedicado a la literatura, la reflexión y la conversación con el lector.
Todo escritor necesita un tintero.
Antiguamente era un objeto sencillo: un pequeño recipiente del cual el escritor tomaba la tinta necesaria para llevar sus pensamientos al papel. Hoy mi tintero es metafórico. Contiene historias, recuerdos, preguntas, investigaciones, ideas y reflexiones sobre esa extraña y maravillosa experiencia que llamamos vida.
De ahí nace este sitio.
¿Qué encontrará aquí?
En El Tintero de Caballero escribo sobre literatura, filosofía práctica, aprendizaje, espiritualidad, cultura, lenguaje, historia, el oficio de escribir y, sobre todo, sobre las personas.
Algunos textos nacen de experiencias vividas. Otros de algo que he leído o investigado. A veces comparto el proceso detrás de una historia o de un libro. También encontrará cuentos, ensayos, noticias sobre mis proyectos y, ocasionalmente, algún experimento literario que sencillamente me pareció demasiado divertido como para dejarlo encerrado en mi computadora.
Los temas pueden variar mucho porque también varían mis intereses.
Lo que procuro que no cambie es el propósito.
Creo que escribir es entrar en un diálogo con el lector.
En realidad, el lector suele comenzar esa conversación mucho antes que yo. Escucho las preguntas que las personas hacen, sus preocupaciones, experiencias, esperanzas y contradicciones. Observo. Leo. Investigo. Pienso. Y muchas veces lo que finalmente escribo es mi respuesta a algo que otro ser humano ya había puesto sobre la mesa.
Por eso considero la confianza del lector algo importante.
Si usted me concede unos minutos de su vida para leer algo que he escrito, procuraré respetarlos.
No espero que siempre estemos de acuerdo. Sería una conversación bastante aburrida si así fuera. Mi esperanza es algo más modesto: que cuando termine de leer haya encontrado una idea digna de considerar, una pregunta que valga la pena continuar pensando, una historia que le haya acompañado por un rato o, sencillamente, algo bueno que llevar consigo.
Sobre Z.D. Caballero
Soy escritor puertorriqueño, narrador, ensayista y autor independiente.
Mi escritura se mueve entre la memoria, la ficción y la reflexión filosófica. Me interesa particularmente explorar la experiencia humana: identidad, dignidad, fe, relaciones, lenguaje, verdad, aprendizaje, sufrimiento, esperanza y nuestra capacidad de hacer el bien.
Escribo en español y en inglés porque ambos idiomas forman parte de mi historia. El español es el idioma de mis raíces, de mi patria y de gran parte de mi experiencia emocional. El inglés ha sido también idioma de estudio, imaginación y exploración intelectual. Ambos me permiten mirar el mismo mundo desde ventanas ligeramente diferentes.
Mis libros y escritos parten de una convicción sencilla: una buena obra debe dejar algo bueno detrás.
No necesariamente una respuesta.
A veces basta con una buena pregunta.

El Tintero de Caballero is the official website of author Z.D. Caballero—a place for literature, reflection, and conversation with the reader.
Every writer needs an inkwell.
Long ago, it was a simple object: a small vessel from which a writer drew the ink needed to put thoughts onto paper. Today, my inkwell is metaphorical. It contains stories, memories, questions, research, ideas, and reflections on that strange and wonderful experience we call life.
That is where this website begins.
What will you find here?
At El Tintero de Caballero, I write about literature, practical philosophy, learning, spirituality, culture, language, history, the craft of writing, and, above all, people.
Some pieces grow from lived experience. Others begin with something I have read or researched. Sometimes I share the process behind a story or book. You will also find short fiction, essays, news about my projects, and the occasional literary experiment that simply seemed too much fun to leave trapped inside my computer.
The subjects may vary considerably because so do my interests.
What I try to keep constant is the purpose.
I believe writing is a dialogue with the reader.
In fact, the reader often begins that conversation long before I do. I listen to people's questions, concerns, experiences, hopes, and contradictions. I observe. I read. I research. I think. And often what I eventually write is my response to something another human being has already placed on the table.
That is why I take a reader's trust seriously.
If you give me a few minutes of your life to read something I have written, I will try to respect them.
I do not expect us always to agree. That would make for a rather boring conversation. My hope is more modest: that when you finish reading, you have found an idea worth considering, a question worth thinking about a little longer, a story that kept you company for a while, or simply something good to carry with you.
About Z.D. Caballero
I am a Puerto Rican writer, storyteller, essayist, and independent author.
My work moves between memoir, fiction, and philosophical reflection. I am particularly interested in exploring the human experience: identity, dignity, faith, relationships, language, truth, learning, suffering, hope, and our capacity for doing good.
I write in both Spanish and English because both languages are part of my story. Spanish is the language of my roots, my homeland, and much of my emotional experience. English has also become a language of study, imagination, and intellectual exploration. Together, they allow me to look at the same world through slightly different windows.
My books and writings grow from a simple conviction: a good work should leave something good behind.
Not necessarily an answer.
Sometimes a good question is enough.
